About Product
This 2015 Glen-L Torpedo 19′ is a handcrafted wooden runabout built by the seller and completed in 2015 — the first known example of the Torpedo design, and the final model conceived by Glen L. Witt, founder of Glen-L Marine Designs, prior to his passing in 2017.
The boat’s cold-molded hull features 3″ okoume marine plywood sheathed in fiberglass with System Three epoxy resin, complemented by white oak stringers and sapele hardwood keel, frames, and chines. The topsides are finished in white, with a blue bottom and red bootstripe, while the hull design delivers exceptional stiffness, durability, and a no-soak profile ideal for trailering and freshwater use.
Power is supplied by a 5.7-liter Crusader V8, factory rated at 330 horsepower, paired with a Velvet Drive Liberty forward-reverse transmission featuring 1:1 gearing. The engine is equipped with multi-port electronic fuel injection and dual stainless-steel exhausts exiting through the transom. Performance is smooth, reliable, and period-correct for a classic runabout.
Between 2015 and 2019, this Glen-L Torpedo earned multiple awards at regional and national wooden boat shows, highlighting the craftsmanship and precision of its construction.
